Suggestions for hiking in CO - anywhere from Rocky Mountain National Park to Buena Vista area

Looking for a couple suggestions for a moderate to difficult hike in 2 weeks where we wouldn't run into snow.  Is that even possible this early in the year?   Mostly looking for some good views and / or alpine lake hike.  We are driving over from Nebraska and are really willing to go anywhere within 2 or so hours of Denver.  There are so many places to hike that I am getting lost in the options!

  • I would suggest Andrews Glacier, it is about 10 mile out and back hike. The trail is a clear cut path right up to the base of the glacier then it turns into a rock scramble up to the glacier. Happy Trails!!!
